My personality

My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Presenting Grayson and Lucas!
These two adorable, fun-loving and handsome brothers are the best boys! They came to our foster home at the beginning of last summer. We fell in love with them, and they are a pleasure to live with! They both recovered from neuter well, and both overcame a bout with ringworm.

Grayson is the outgoing, rough and tumble rascal of the pair! He is very smart and loves both cuddles and playing. He loves attention and will even try to open door knobs to get to his humans. He will rough house with his brother Lucas to the point where we’re exhausted just watching them! Aside from his energetic nature, Grayson is actually very loving and so sweet. He definitely is a good brother in that he shows Lucas the ropes.

Lucas is slower to approach his humans, but once we does, he gives little kisses and often likes to “clean our hair” by tapping his paw on our heads. If we are sitting on the floor with him, he will come over, stretch up to reach our faces and give our face a gentle pet with his paw! He is a very inquisitive and smart guy. He is more quiet than Grayson, but he really looks to his brother.

These really lovely boys will be greatly missed in our home. We wish we could keep them forever, but we are glad we could help them when they were in need. Their perfect forever home would be one that is experienced, kind, calm and very attentive. They are used to two older children who are very respectful of their needs and shower them with love, but also with quiet space when needed.

Additional adoption info

Adoption involves an interview, a meeting and home visit (in person after Covid, currently virtual), vet references, and an adoption fee.
Our greatest concern is the animals that we care for, and matchmaking is what we do best..

Adoption application

Go meet their pets

Most of our cats and all of our dogs are cared for in foster homes. They are not available to meet until your application has been started, you have been interviewed and approved.

Some of our cats may be featured in the Global Pet Foods store located in Alliston, ON and in Shelburne, ON.
And we occasionally hold "meet and greet" events at PetValu, 184 Front St., Toronto, ON.

In those cases, the adoption process is the same and conducted by CompassionForPaws - NOT by the staff at the store. We never do adoptions directly from an event but applications may be tendered.

More about this rescue

We are a network of compassionate individuals that care for homeless paws, in foster homes throughout Southern Ontario, until they can find a new, permanent place to call their own.

Shelly Hawley-Yan has more than 20 years experience in rescue, and the team of Debbie Hunt, Vickie Janetos, Andrea Maenza and Dale Reilly add another several decades of combined rescue experience.

Our adoptable paws come from shelters where the animals may not have been coping with that environment, or may have been surrendered by people whose lives have changed,

All paws have been vet checked and are spayed/neutered, vaccinated and microchipped.
