My personality

My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Presenting Gloria and Hermione

Gloria and Hermione are two beautiful, kind and funny sisters who are a joy to live with! They came to our foster home at the beginning of last summer and we love them! They were spayed in our care, and they had a bout of ringworm that they have recovered from. They are very curious, which is another way of saying that they are into everything all the time! They run, climb, and bounce, but when you sit with them they are just little purring motors!

Gloria is a cautious little one who is so, SO curious. With a quiet home, she builds her trust and loves to be petted. She is not one for laps, but she does run and play when she’s comfy with her surroundings. Although they can rough house as siblings do, she loves her sister Hermione.

Hermione is an outgoing, gregarious sister who is full of energy and curiosity. She is literally bright eyed and bushy tailed! She confidently explores and seeks out her human family as soon as she feels settled in a new home! She is a great sister for Gloria because she shows her how to explore and trust!

The perfect home for them is an experienced cat home that can adapt and love both shy and outgoing cats! They should have a home that can start them in a quiet space and allow them to build up their confidence. They have been used to older children who are very respectful of their needs and personalities. It will be very hard to say goodbye to these special girls, but we are very glad we helped them when they needed rescue, and we are thrilled that they can find the perfect forever home.

Additional adoption info

Adoption involves an interview, a meeting and home visit (in person after Covid, currently virtual), vet references, and an adoption fee.
Our greatest concern is the animals that we care for, and matchmaking is what we do best..

Adoption application

Go meet their pets

Most of our cats and all of our dogs are cared for in foster homes. They are not available to meet until your application has been started, you have been interviewed and approved.

Some of our cats may be featured in the Global Pet Foods store located in Alliston, ON and in Shelburne, ON.
And we occasionally hold "meet and greet" events at PetValu, 184 Front St., Toronto, ON.

In those cases, the adoption process is the same and conducted by CompassionForPaws - NOT by the staff at the store. We never do adoptions directly from an event but applications may be tendered.

More about this rescue

We are a network of compassionate individuals that care for homeless paws, in foster homes throughout Southern Ontario, until they can find a new, permanent place to call their own.

Shelly Hawley-Yan has more than 20 years experience in rescue, and the team of Debbie Hunt, Vickie Janetos, Andrea Maenza and Dale Reilly add another several decades of combined rescue experience.

Our adoptable paws come from shelters where the animals may not have been coping with that environment, or may have been surrendered by people whose lives have changed,

All paws have been vet checked and are spayed/neutered, vaccinated and microchipped.
