My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Hi! My name is Bobbi and I turned 1 in October 2023! We think I'm a lab mix, maybe with some hound and cur mixed in there based on my floppy ears and silly sounds. I was rescued with my brother from a gully in Tijuana when I was around 9 months old. I'm about 40 lbs right now and still working on gaining a little weight, but my foster mom thinks I'm about as tall as I'll get. I get lots of compliments on my brindle coloring, especially when I'm in the sun.

I'm crate-trained, potty-trained, and I know sit, shake (both paws!), stay, come, and the concept of lay down. I could use a little more practice walking nicely on the leash, but I am slowly getting the hang of it. There are just so many new things to sniff each time we go outside!

I LOVE food and treats and a slow feeder really helps me! I am very good at sitting and waiting nicely for my breakfast and dinner. Since I am so food and treat-motivated, I'm a pretty fast learner and will show off my tricks without you even asking! I do sometimes counter-surf even though I know I'm not supposed to... my foster mom says that's my teenage rebellion.

My dream home would have a big yard with lots of things to sniff and animals to chase. It would also have another dog who is young and confident so I would have someone to play with and learn from OR a very energetic, active family! My energy can sometimes be too much for older dogs, but I'm pretty good at taking other dogs' cues and toning it down when they tell me to. Since I can get so excited, really young kids are not the safest for me to be around.

I've been told my most admirable trait is my persistence. If I really need to go outside or I'm super determined to play, I might bark a bit or pull at your clothes to get my point across.

When I'm sleepy, I love love love to cuddle up next to my foster family. I can sleep in my kennel at night, but I would prefer to sleep next to you!

There is so much to be excited about in life--including finding my forever family! I hope to meet you soon!
