DOD 2-24-2022 Rufus is a gorgeous Dachshund, he is very loving and gets along well with other dogs in his play group. He is complete on all medical, neutered, up to date on shots, heartworm negative and is on the Proheart 6 injection for heartworm preventative.Rufus is very affectionate and needs someone that wants their dog close, he thrives on attention. Rufus grew up in a breeding facility, he was purchased as a puppy to be a breeding adult. Rufus got to big to breed so he had to go. Rufus is crate trained and loves to go for walks. Rufus is shy until he gets to know you and if he gets scared he will have submissive urination. He no longer has that issue here but we can't say it won't happen again when he moves. In the situation here with us it took him about 2 weeks to get past it, His adoption fee is 850.00, transport fee is 165.00 and our transport is HEARTS. They leave every other Friday and deliver to their east coast stops on Saturday.
The first step in the adoption process is to fill out an online adoption application.
You can find a copy of that application here. We sometimes receive a lot of interest on an animal and can't always reply to each email in a timely manner. An application does not obligate you to adopt from us, but it does show that you are serious about the adoption process. Please remember we are all volunteers.
After you submit your application please allow a few days for a volunteer to review your application. During this time your vet reference will be checked and a volunteer with determine if it is the best match for you and the animal. Applications are not approved on a first come, first serve basis. We match up the best home for the animal, so even if the pet has other applications, this does not mean he/she will be adopted to that home.
Once your application has been approved a volunteer with contact you to set up a phone interview. This is the perfect time for you to ask any questions you have about the adoption process and the animal you are interested in.
