My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meeka is the Cat's ME - OW! This beauty is the most unusual little stray, who was found running around the streets of Albany with feral kitties. But she definitely didn't act like the rest. She was hanging with the feeder and meowing in her special way to her. We suspect she was most likely abandoned. No one came to claim her. Thus, we took her into Cat Saves Rescue and got her all vetted.

Her personality is as lovely as her looks. It took all of 3 days, for her to be comfortable and feeling part of the pack of her new foster family, as if it were always that way. She snuggles and lets her foster male feline buddy groom her -adorbs!!! She was at first, curious and standoffish about the dogs but quickly learned that they too are her besties. After just a week, Meeka's fun and playful personality starts to emerge. She loves to climb the cat tree and look out the window, and enjoys playing with toys; although she doesn't really care for roughhousing or play wrestling.

Meeka absolutely adores attention from her foster mom and dad humans too! She comes running and flops over for belly rubs and will cuddle on a lap any time of day. She relishes in the attention she gets, and when she feels she is being ignored, Meeka will politely butt-in and request lovins and cuddles with a distinct meow. Then happily purrs when she gets what she wants. And Meeka is quite the chatty Catty too, once she's gets to know you and will carry a conversation with you! She loves cuddling with her foster parents on the bed at night, and confidently shares that space with all her foster feline and canine friends.

Meeka has wonderful house manners, it's as if she has finally found the life she deserves!  Meeka does not scratch people or furniture, although she happily claws the cardboard and rope scratchers around the house. Her litterbox manners are immaculate and she doesn't seem interested in going back outside. However, When Meeka needs some quiet time she likes to take a nap where she feels secure, in a closet or under the couch.

Meeka would love a home where she's not left alone much, either with someone retired or working from home and with another companion animal for company. A cat-savvy dog could be the ticket too, as she gets more used to them. Meeka is young but matured and healthy, fixed and vetted, and ready for her new adventure with her adopters. She has been fixed and vaccinated in 5/23. And updated her Rabies on 5/6/24, good for another 3 years. Her FVRCP will be repeated at time of adoption so, she will not need to see a vet for a year, unless, of course, she becomes ill or injured, God forbid. She is flea treated monthly and been dewormed thrice. And she will be microchipped at time of adoption. We are asking $180 as the adoption fee and will be delivered to your home with medical records. Indoor only.

More about this rescue

Cat's Cradle Rescue keeps cats out of shelters by offering an alternative to a cage - we are a no-kill FOSTER-HOME BASED rescue group that welcomes cats to our home environments as they await adoption.

Why Foster Care? Does your new kitty like children? Does she play with dogs or find other felines too uncomfortable to be around? Does he have consistent litter-box manners? Does he want to cuddle or perhaps his comfort zone is to be more independent. Many life-factors influence cat behavior and while genetics plays a role, we know that human touch, kindness, nurturing and consistency of care are non-negotiable requirements. We provide all of this.
