Check out our sister brand, Kinship, for vet chat, a nutrition calculator, basic obedience training, and (much) more. So you're never flying solo in this pet parenting thing.
Athena is the sweetest cat in the world who is an absolute WARRIOR.
Trapped by our friends at The Cat Collaborative & currently residing at their Arsenal location, Athena has become a volunteer favorite.
She was spotted by one of their trappers absolutely covered in filth to the point her white fur was almost black. The feeder was a frail older gentleman who let the trapper know she was about 4 years old and had been left behind 2 years ago when her family moved and forgot to take her with 🙄 He was doing his best to care for the cats in his area and was happy to accept help for them.
Athena got to clinic and tested TRIPLE positive (FIV, FeLV, & heartworm). She also had some pretty bad pillow paw (which has since been treated with 30 days of antibiotics & healed). On top of all of that, at the time we noticed a small chunk missing from her tongue. At the time, her future was not known because she was in such awful shape.
This girl absolutely rallied over that 30 days and is an entirely new cat. Her pillow paw is healed AND she’s also now negative for heart-worm. Her repeat test showed she is still positive for FeLV & her FIV was a weak positive.
Now she enjoys spending her days lapping up wet food, laying in her cozy bed, and being loved on by everyone! She does still have to live in a cubby so we’re hoping we can find her the home of her dreams.
Athena loves people and will roll right over the second she sees someone coming towards her. She purrs like no other and you can just feel her sense of peace now that she feels good and feels safe.
Athena is now spayed, UTD on vaccines, & will be microchipped!
If you have the capacity to take on an FeLV cat, please consider this deserving girl!
The first collage is her progress from intake & the second pic is her now!
