Meet Chester of the Kent County Litter!

Chester is named after the town of Chestertown. He was born on 2/18/24 and raised in a home in North Carolina. Mom is a Labrador Retriever and Dad is a scoundrel passing through the neighborhood. He is currently fostered in Millington, MD.

Chester is doing great house breaking. He has access to a doggy door, fenced area, and he has already learned to do his business outside.

Chester is the biggest love bug. He wants nothing more than to snuggle in your lap and then roll over for a belly scratch. Chester is the only chocolate in the litter and has the most beautiful blue eyes.

He will be a great addition to any family with or without small children. He has had his fist puppy shots, microchipped and has been wormed.

Please Note:
1. You must have a dedicated private space for potty and outdoor exploration. Puppies often need additional immunizations before they are allowed to walk in public spaces such as apartment complexes, dog parks and anywhere other animals may be until the puppies are fully immunized.

2. Unless an existing good vet record exists, we will not adopt to anyone further than a 1-hour drive from the listed location. We need to be in close proximity to adopters when we need to follow up on vaccinations and spay/neuter. There is an additional $200 spay/neuter deposit for an adopter within one hour who does not have a current or prior good vet record.

3. Pup cannot be left alone for more than 3-4 hours at a time. This is necessary for comfort breaks and much-needed socialization for a pup this age.

We review veterinary care for applicants. This includes regular well visits, core vaccinations, spay/neuter, heartworm, and tickborne tests, as well as regular monthly heartworm prevention and flea/tick prevention. You MUST contact your veterinarian’s office to give them permission to speak to us BEFORE we call them to verify the care you have provided for your pets.

Applications are available at www.puppypawsrescue.org If your application meets our adoption criteria, we will contact you within 1 week. At that time, you will be contacted (usually by email) to schedule a phone interview and a virtual home visit (Facetime, Skype, etc). PLEASE CHECK your SPAM folder for emails from Puppy Paws Rescue.

Due to the volume of applications, applications that do not move forward to an interview may not receive a reply within that time frame. Our rescue is an all-volunteer team managing families, our paying jobs, households, foster dogs, application processing, interviews, home visits, follow-up, transports, and much more. We ask that you be courteous and patient with us.
