My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Sadly, Boris' family had to surrender him to the shelter when his primary guardian was moved into hospice care. The human he knew his whole life was taken from him, and Boris found himself inside a kennel at a very noisy and very overcrowded shelter.

Boris spent his early life inside a cage as a laboratory testing beagle, so we sure didn't want this fella to have to spend any more time in a cage, EVER.

When Boris came to us, he had a lot of health issues going on, showing signs of real neglect for what had to have been a fairly long time. He had a fatty tumor on his front leg that wrapped completely around the leg and required a very extensive surgery to remove it. That tumor did some real damage to that leg and Boris walks with a significant limp.

Does that slow this fella down? Heck, no. NO ONE believes Boris is 14 years old. He acts like a much younger dog and has ALL the beagle characteristics: loves food. LOVES food. LOVES FOOD.
He is also still playful and energetic and VERY SWEET.

We can hardly wait for the person out there that's meant to give Boris the best next chapter of his life to find him!
