My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Our adoption process can be found on our website here: www.mnpocketpetrescue.org/process

Estimated birth date: 8/1/23

Personality: Chatty, Cuddly, Curious, Energetic, Enjoys being held, Friendly toward humans, Friendly toward other animals, Funny, Inquisitive, Playful, Smart, Sweet.

Favorite treats: Oxbow hay treats (various flavors), bell pepper, cilantro

Current Diet: Oxbow Essentials Adult Guinea Pig Food, Veggies, Leafy Greens, Western Timothy Hay, fruit occasionally.

Favorite toys and activities: hiding/sleeping in the hay bag, toilet paper tubes, hay filled twig balls, running in and out of tunnels, hanging out in her cube hammock, following Elsa around and copying her behavior.

Potty trained: Haven't tried

This animal’s daily routine: Morning vitamin C tablet and pellets around 7:30am, refresh hay and water as needed. Poop clean out mid morning. Lap/floor time late afternoon or after dinner. Dinner salad around 5:00/5:30pm. Poop clean out, and refresh hay and water if needed before bedtime. Top and back of cage covered with light blanket before bedtime around 10:00/10:30pm.

BFF (Does this animal have or need a friend of the same species in their home?): Theresa & Elsa are a recently bonded pair and must be adopted together.

Other species this pet has been exposed to and reaction: cat - indifferent; guinea pig in other room - no direct contact but can hear and smell her, no reaction; rabbit in other room - no direct contact but can hear and smell him, no reaction

Has this animal been exposed to children? What was their reaction? Theresa does not have contact with children in her foster home
Health concerns: None

Behavioral concerns: Theresa is a trust training graduate! She will need to be interacted with patiently in her adoptive home to continue the gains she has made though the Trust Training Program. She does best when she's allowed to smell your hand first before attempting to pet her, and when a soft tunnel or sleepy sack is used to pick her up.

Other notes: Theresa was found outside, and is initially fearful when being brought outside for play time or going somewhere in her carrier. Talking to her softly about what's going on, and singing to her, help to calm her down.

Due to our rescue being foster-based, not all foster homes are located in Saint Paul, MN. This animal's foster parent prefers to meet at the Petsmart - 8460 Tamarack Village, Woodbury, MN 55125 for meet & greets, & adoptions.

Fee: Theresa & Elsa will have a combined adoption fee of $60

We absolutely DO NOT SHIP ANIMALS! Please do not ask.

Theresa's care while in rescue has not yet been sponsored. If you would like to donate to provide veterinary care, food, bedding, and enrichment for Theresa or other pocket pets in the care of MNPPR, please visit https://www.mnpocketpetrescue.org/sponsor-a-pocket-pet for more information.
