Check out our sister brand, Kinship, for vet chat, a nutrition calculator, basic obedience training, and (much) more. So you're never flying solo in this pet parenting thing.
You know how some folks like to be the center of attention? That's not me. I'm supporting-actor-material all the way. I like to sit back and observe (maybe judge a teeny tiny bit, too, because I am a cat after all), then choose where to quietly play or who to snuggle with. My foster buddies like to be in the spotlight, but I'm more like the one who plods along after them, smiling and waving at the crowd.
I've lived through a whole lot. I used to struggle to get enough to eat at the cat colony I came from, and then our elderly feeder died and we had nothing to eat at all. When Stray Cat Blues stepped in, half of my colony was so sick that they did not survive. I'm one of the lucky ones.
I am a very healthy, FIV positive, kitty. Most cats with FIV live long, comfortable, normal lives, even with other cats. My foster room friends are all FIV-negative, and we get along just fine! Which is awesome, because I love other cats. I also have a common condition that occasionally causes my lower lip to get a bit swollen—I don’t mind at all! A quick course of antibiotics and I am just fine.
I promise that if you give me a chance, I will never steal your thunder. I will cheer you on, support you, and cuddle you when you need it most. Would you like to come meet me? I sure hope so.

The first step is to complete an Application. Start at the Adoption page on our website - https://www.straycatblues.org/adoption-process
2.
Approve Application
You will be assigned an Adoption Representative who will review your application and check your vet and personal references.
3.
Meet the Pet
Once approved, we will set up a meet and greet for you with the cat(s) you are interested in.
4.
Sign Adoption Contract
Your Adoption Representative will go over paperwork with you. You will sign and then pay the Adoption Fee.
5.
Take the Pet Home
This is the best part! Take your new cat home!
Additional adoption info
During review of the application if you rent your home, we confirm with your landlord that you are allowed to have the cat per your lease.
We also consider if a particular cat is a good fit for your home. Certain cats will do better in homes without small children, or without other cats. Other cats may need to be adopted with a cat that they are bonded with. So we make sure that the cat and the home are a good match before completing an adoption.
Some of our fosters allow trial adoptions, where you would have 2-3 weeks to make sure that the cat being adopted was accepted by the other pets in your home. If you are interested in this, please ask your Adoption Representative.
All cats adopted from Stray Cat Blues have been screened for feline leukemia and FIV, inoculated, sterilized and wormed when they first come to us. Additional vet work is completed for those cats that require additional care. Healthy, adoptable cats and kittens are then housed through our network of foster homes until they are adopted.
You are also welcome to come visit cats at our PetSmart Collegeville and PetSmart North Wales/Montgomeryville locations (see times for adoption showings). If you see a cat there that you like, you can complete an adoption application there in person.
Questions - email us at: contact@straycatblues.org. We are happy to answer general questions, and also put you in touch with the foster families for questions about specific cats.
Adoption Fees:
• $150 - Kittens up to one year of age
• $100 - For cats over one year and up to 7 years of age
• $70 - For cats 7 years of age and over.
All fees are subject to Pennsylvania's 6% sales tax and a minimum of $5 or 5% service fee.
Fees for cats with special needs will be determined based upon circumstances and may result in a fee reduction.
