My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Toby, a delightful 6-year-old Doberman/Hound mix weighing 56 pounds. This friendly canine is both dog and cat-friendly, making him a versatile companion. Toby is house and crate trained, though occasional accidents may occur if he feels anxious – a manageable aspect with the right home environment and schedule. In terms of an ideal home, Toby thrives in a large fenced yard where he can run and play with doggie friends. He tends to be more comfortable around females or patient men, as he is timid but not aggressive. Working from home is a bonus, and early risers would be a great match for Toby's energetic mornings. Recognizing Toby's need for confidence-building, he would benefit from a household with opportunities for training and growth. Early risers are a plus, and having a playful dog friend is essential for his well-being. While cats and older children (16 and above) are welcome, a calm environment is preferred. Despite his timidity, Toby is a super sweet dog who loves to run in the yard, is leash trained, and enjoys playing with toys. He is healthy, microchipped, and up-to-date on vaccines. The reason for rehoming stems from the owner's unfortunate struggle with illness, prompting the search for a loving and understanding forever home for Toby.

More about this rescue

Adopt a Homeless Animal Rescue (AAHA) is a nonprofit dedicated to rescuing and assisting animals in crisis. We actively combat animal cruelty in any form.

We have a particular commitment to pit bulls and aim to raise awareness about the breed, help those in need, and educate the public:
•We seek to promote this lovely yet unfairly maligned breed as the sweet, intelligent, affectionate, and people-oriented dogs they are.
•We assume stewardship over their well-being and strive to make this world a better place for them.
•We serve as a resource and/or liaison for shelters, individuals, and the community at large, advocating for any animal in harm's way.
•We also function in an advisory role for private citizens who seek assistance and guidance in better caring for their pets.

We are a registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization.

Please help us help the animals!
