Lala is taking her house hippo duties very seriously, and with style we might add.

Lala has loved every minute of being able to chillax in a home setting, and we have found that while she can zoom and play, she would really much rather potato on the couch for as much of the day as you’ll let her.

While she has been simply loving being in a foster home, due to work conflicts she is coming back to boarding this week and we would really love to place her in a new foster home - or better yet find her an adopter!

Lala is estimated around 5 years old, and is a squatty and petite 40lbs. She is dog, cat and kid friendly. She still has some things to learn, she is not a huge fan of being crated, but will tolerate it for a couple hours before saying HECK NO! She is still working on potty training as well, but she is otherwise an easy, gentle, snuggly gal to be around (her daughter had to get it from somewhere right?

)

Lala has gone to work with foster mom some days and they joke she is the office therapy dog. Anytime someone has been having a rough time and needs a break they just go and snuggle with Lala! Instant cure!

When you adopt a dog from Swamp Haven, you’re not just saving a life. You’re beginning a journey filled with love, loyalty and trust. Life can be busy and stressful. The companionship of a dog is a constant reminder to slow down and enjoy the little things. At Swamp Haven, our mission isn’t to just help down-on-their-luck dogs find their forever homes. Our mission is to create a lasting relationship with you and your family.
Adopt happiness. Our adoption process is unique in that we work with you every step of the way to ensure that we’re placing the right dog with the right family. First, chat with us about what you’re looking for in a dog and we will set up a time for you to meet the lucky pup. From there, fill out an application. Once reviewed we set up a time to bring your potential pup to your house for a home visit and trial week. We want to make sure it’s the right fit for both your family and the dog involved. We will be totally available during the trial week for any questions or concerns. The last step is to finalize the adoption. And then congrats, you’re a new member of the Swamp Haven family and your happy tail has just begun!

Swamp Haven is an animal rescue organization that takes down-on-their-luck dogs and nurtures them back to a healthy mental and physical state, so they can find their forever home. Our goal is simple. We save innocent dogs that have been overlooked by society and provide short-term care including vetting (vaccinations, spay/neuter, microchip and heartworm and flea prevention) and training to learn how to walk politely on a leash, play in a pack and live calmly and lovingly in their new home.
