My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Sasha, a senior sweetheart who has spent her golden years sharing love and companionship with everyone she meets. She's friendly, with a heart as big as her spirit, and a knack for making anyone feel like the most important person in the world. She needs to be the only dog in the home. Sasha is the epitome of a loyal friend, always ready to lend an ear or a comforting presence. She's a calm and gentle soul, who brings a sense of peace and joy to everyone around her. Sasha's love is unconditional and pure, and she's waiting to share it with a family who will cherish her.

More about this shelter

Founded in 1971 as the Animal Aid Society of Englewood, Suncoast Humane Society began with a few cages where people left stray animals to be cared for. Over the years, our service area has grown to include over 400 square miles, covering three counties: Sarasota, Charlotte and portions of Lee.
Suncoast Humane Society provides a safe refuge for thousands of lost, abandoned and abused animals from our service area each year. We are committed to our open-door policy of never turning any animal away, regardless of health, temperament, breed or circumstances.
