My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Please contact foster at grneyeprincess74@aol.com

Hi! My name is Nobara. I have been in the shelter since April, when I was still a puppy. It’s been so long that I officially turned one year old on June 28. I was in the shelter for two months without any interest.

Thankfully, a foster took me home days before my birthday and threw me an amazing party. You can see these pictures on my profile! It was the best day of my life so far.

The only thing that would have made it better is if my forever family was there to celebrate. But, I can’t wait to spend every remaining birthday from now on with you. So, make my birthday wish come true and take me home!

Some quick facts about me:

- Dog friendly with slow intros per daycation notes
- Possibly cat friendly with very slow intros
- Medium to low energy
- Tennis balls are my favorite toy, but any other ball will do in a pinch
- I am practicing how to catch my tennis ball in my mouth
- Big bowls of ice water on hot days are amazing. I love to drink cold water!
- House trained
- Gentle on the leash
- Obedient and I follow your lead on the leash from behind
- Outstanding listener when my family talks to me or gives me a command
- Smart and learned my “sit,” “stay,” “bed,” “easy,” and “back” commands over just a few days in foster
- Love and attention motivated, but treats are a close second
- I take treats gently and am learning to catch them in my mouth
- Quiet at night as long as my surroundings are also quiet
- Love to sleep in a crate with on top of a big fluffy blanket every night
- Durable chew toys are amazing
- I get scared easily sometimes by other dogs barking at me, strange new things like bikes/scooters/strollers/wheelchairs
- I am a social eater and like having my family near me when I eat breakfast or dinner. I will sometimes refuse to eat out of my bowl, take treats, or chew on a peanut butter kong until my family is around me again. I have been known to wait up to a few hours after feeding to eat if I am left alone immediately afterward. I like to feel safe and loved while I eat!
- I do like chew toys, including kongs. My foster family gives me frozen peanut butter kongs on hot days. But I like room temperature peanut butter kongs too!
- I have the most beautiful and soft brindle and white fur
- I love to rub my body on you like a cat when I’m feeling happy, relaxed, and safe
- Some of my favorite tr
