Hamilton is a 3 year old little cutie who comes to us from Chicago Animal Care and Control. We've never met a dog that looks like him! He is like a mini-pittie/chihuahua or something. Whatever he is, it is adorable AND sweet.
Hamilton is a wonderful little guy. Hamilton *loves* toys more than anything, especially the types that squeak. You can always get his attention with a squeaker! Hamilton and his stuffies...we love how he picks up his Space Man stuffy to go on walks and carries it around ever so gently in his mouth. His foster mom has been working hard on his training, especially to trade his toy for treats or other toys. He's even learning to fetch - at first he didn't bring the toy back but he's now learning the game is even more fun when you do.
We think it's funny that Hamilton is a little finicky with his food - he knows what he likes and won't settle for less! Wet food? Heck no. Parmesan sprinkled on his kibble? Yes please! He will stick his nose up at different treats, but we've found what he does like and pupperoni is the winner.
Hamilton has spent time in a foster home and he's done so well! We asked his foster mom to write a bio for him, and here's what she has to say!
"Hi. I am Hamilton, but I answer to Hammy. When my name is called, I get excited because usually it means something good is in store.... a walk, a treat, a game, a ride. At home I lay on the couch, or my bed, or out on the balcony, and sometimes I go in my crate if I want some privacy - that's usually where I clean myself. Once I get comfortable with my human, I also like to lay on their lap and even roll over, so they pet my belly. I like to get a little all over massage whenever possible. I am curious, so I stop and smell a lot, but I just need some reminders to walk, or as my human says, "watch me", and maybe a treat when I am walking good. I am not much of a barker, so I am really good in an apartment or condo. However - I do not like rain, or sprayed water, or sprinklers. I often avoid going out in the rain so sometimes i have to be coaxed out to do my business. I am a wonderful boy!"
Hamilton's adoption fee is $250. This animal is neutered, up to date on core vaccines, and Heartworm negative.
