Despite being a senior dog, Bane has a zest for life that's almost unmatched. This handsome brindle boy is always down for playtime with his human or canine friends, and you'll most often find him wagging his tail on walks as he patrols the property for new friends. He's not just affectionate, though; he's also smart, and he LOVES snacks. This man is always down to learn new tricks in exchange for tasty treats. Or, heck, he'll take the treats for free, too! Bane is a happy-go-lucky boy who loves to romp around with his toys during playtime, but he's also a pretty sizeable dog. At just over 50 pounds, when he gets excited, he can be a little bit like a big, loving wrecking ball. Bane would do best with older, sturdy kids who won't be nervous around all his puppy energy. If you're looking for a silly senior dog with true puppy vibes, come see sweet Bane today!

You’ll meet an Adoption Counselor to go over applications and discuss the animal you’re considering. We work with you to ensure your family, home and new family member is a perfect fit.
2. We’ll review all the documents and permissions (support from other adults in home, landlord permission and home ownership verification).
3. If your adoption is approved, your new pet can go home with you the same day providing they have had their spay/neuter surgery. If they haven't had their surgery yet, we will let you know when their surgery is scheduled and you can usually pick them up the next day.

For 133 years, the Capital Area Humane Society has been sheltering homeless animals, fighting animal cruelty and neglect, and offering programs to address the needs of animals in our community. More than 92 percent of our funding is provided by donations and fees for services. We are not a government agency, and we do not receive general operating support from national organizations. The Capital Area Humane Society relies on the support of private donors and volunteers to make our work possible.
Since 1883 the Capital Area Humane Society has been dedicated to providing only the highest quality of care for everyone we serve, animals and people alike. We are a team of experts—skilled, caring and compassionate people dedicated to our mission of fighting animal cruelty, helping animals in need and advocating for their well-being.
Our Mission
To fight animal cruelty, help animals in need and advocate for their well-being.
Our Vision
All animals live free of suffering and all companion animals are valued members of loving and caring families.
