Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Rescue never sleeps and even when we are traveling or on vacation, we always have our eyes open for great dogs in need that we can help.
Such was the case with Kirby, an 15mo ,plush coat, white German Shepherd boy who was found as a stray in the high CA desert and running out of time due to shelter overcrowding. Unbelievably, nobody came for this magnificent puppy and he was on the immediate euthanasia list.
Our President reached out to a long time , dedicated ARK Family member who happened to be vacationing in CA suggesting Kirby just might have what it takes to become a service companion. Without delay, she drove hours through the high desert to meet him. What we learned is Kirby is affectionate, friendly and loving. he likes to jump up and give hugs and can easily look you right in the face to give wet kisses. He was great on leash, showing no dog reactivity when walking through the crowded kennels. An immediate plan was made to save his Kirby’s life, as he was due to be euthanized the afternoon of the appointment to meet him.
