Meet Wally! This handsome guy came to Safe Haven last year as a local stray. He was with us for a short while before being adopted into a home. Wally was very loved in his home for several months. It was a very tough decision to make, but it was decided that Wally needs home without small children. Wally has showed some signs of resource guarding - with toys, treats/food, and his resting area. Wally has been making frequent trips to one of our volunteers home to continue working on some of the areas that were once a struggle of Wally; he states that Wally has come leaps and bounds in such a short time. Knowing all of these tidbits of Wally's behaviors in a home setting have really assisted in guiding us in the right direction to finding Wally his best, most-suited forever home. Wally needs someone who will love him and continue holding him accountable when his behavior is unacceptable.
Wally is up-to-date on his vaccinations, had a veterinary examination, has been microchipped, neutered, received monthly flea/tick/heartworm preventatives - which means.... he is ready to begin looking for his new forever home!
As you see in his bio pictures - Wally had a group of special guests choose his name last year. A volunteer group of Hawkeye Football players picked the name 'Wally', specifically named after their Assistant Defensive Coordinator coach, Seth Wallace. How special is that?!
If you are interested in meeting or potentially adopting this handsome hound, please complete an online adoption application found on our website at www.wesavepets.com. Once the adoption application is submitted, a volunteer will be in contact to set up a meet & greet time.
