Jingles has been dubbed the new Mayor of OSCAR. He loves the other dogs and being out in the play yard and visiting with everyone. We do not know what he thinks of cats. He does know basic commands,walks well on a leash and rolls over for belly rubs. Jingle was owner surrender after 6 years for becoming "aggressive" with the husband & wife. At the shelter, Jingle has been very sweet, friendly, silly, affectionate, playful - with no issues at all with any of the staff or volunteers. And, although he has lived with children for 6 years, he would do best in a quiet yet active (walks, playful, etc) home without kids running around or lots of people coming in and out for parties, etc. Jingle is about 8 years old and 45 pounds. Please help Jingle find the loving home he is looking for live out his golden years.
We do NOT ship our animals. All adoptive families must travel to us to meet their adoptive dog/cat. Applicants must live within a 2 hour radius from Sparta/Andover (07871/07821).
Please understand that we are an animal shelter and thus unable to say whether the dogs are housebroken as they are not in homes.

Our shelter is not open to the public and is by appointment only. That's because at OSCAR, one of our highest priorities is the health and well-being of the animals in our care. Unlike city shelters or pounds, whose residents are in place for a short time, as a no-kill shelter, our pets are often with us for weeks, months or even years. The shelter is the only safe place and home they know. When strangers, even well-meaning ones looking to adopt, walk through the shelter, it stresses our animals. We make appointments for potential adopters that submitted applications that have been approved through our process to meet our dogs either in our BarkYard or one of our meeting rooms. We’ll spend as much time as you need and introduce you to as many animals as you’d like to meet in order to make the best match and help you find the perfect new family member!
