My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

How this pet arrived:
Tinker was brought in by a community member on November 28, 2023.

Why this pet is the one for you:
Allow us to introduce you to Tinker! This sweetheart of a pup is ready to fill your life with all of the wags and walks and wonderful memories you could ask for. Tinker is wonderful on leash and would love to be your walking buddy, preferably in quieter areas where there aren't too many other dogs, as this will help her stay more relaxed. She also loves playing fetch and romping around the yard, but don't worry - this darling doggy also has a very mellow side, and loves her rest and relaxation. She also appears to be house trained and knows a couple of tricks, like "sit" and "shake." Her ideal home would be one where she can relax without the hustle and bustle of young children. If there are children in the home, make sure to bring them along to meet Tinker so that we can ensure a good fit! She loves to be pet and will even do a little happy dance when you give her back scratches! Tinker has some manageable medical needs that we will be happy to discuss with you so that you can help her be her healthiest, happiest self! So what do you say? Are you ready to fill that Tinker-size hole in your heart? Visit our Oceanside Campus to say hello to Tinker today! Don't forget to bring a leash and collar!

More about this shelter

San Diego Humane Society, an open-admission shelter, is creating a more humane world by inspiring compassion and advancing the welfare of animals and people. Our lifesaving safety net has helped San Diego become the largest city in the U.S. to keep healthy and treatable shelter animals from being euthanized. We are a private, independent, nonprofit organization that is not affiliated with any other humane society or society for the prevention of cruelty to animals.

With campuses in El Cajon, Escondido, Oceanside, Ramona and San Diego, we provide animal services for 14 cities within San Diego County. We not only care for 50,000 animals in our communities but also share the expertise we have gained through our innovative programs with shelters nationwide so they can save more lives in their communities.

While our influence is expanding nationally, our top priority is meeting the needs of San Diego. We provide exceptional care for all animals through world-class veterinary medicine, shelter and most of all: love.
