HISTORY: TWINKIE PIE came to F&F after a TNR when he was found to be FIV positive (see ADDITIONAL INFORMATION below).
TEMPERAMENT: TWINKIE PIE is currently recuperating in foster care.
AGE: born approx. 9/12/2022
MICROCHIP #: 981020053436282
DATE OF STERILIZATION: 3/12/24
VAX RECORD: FVRCP #1: 3/12/24, FVRCP #2: 4/2/24; FVRCP expires: 4/2/25; Rabies expires: 3/12/25
FELV/FIV test: 3/12/24 FeLV+ 4/2 FIV+ and faint FIV+
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION: As is typical with many FIV+ cats, TYSON is expected to live a normal lifespan. While conventional thinking is to only place an FIV+ cat in a home with no other cats or with another FIV+ cat, there are many “mixed households.” According to Cornell University, the primary mode of Feline Immunodeficiency Virus (FIV) transmission is through repeated fights resulting in the exchange of blood, and it poses no threat to humans or other species. If you would like more information on FIV, educational materials can be requested by emailing adoptions@fandfnm.org.
