Check out our sister brand, Kinship, for vet chat, a nutrition calculator, basic obedience training, and (much) more. So you're never flying solo in this pet parenting thing.
Koa is male a 35lb mix breed (DNA profile pending) born approximately April 9th 2023. He may be small in stature, but he makes up for it with a big personality.
Koa is champion at playing fetch and could run circles around a gold medal Olympic athlete. You’ll know when he’s had enough – oh never mind, if it is day lets be real, he has never had enough. One thing is an absolute, Koa is the life of the party and he’ll make you laugh until your sides hurt. He is always up for a good time and wants nothing more than to be with his human.
Nothing is done halfway with Koa. He loves balls, blankets, dogs, cats, all things squeaky and did we say he loves balls?!?! Well, because he does. Tennis balls are life. He can also be a bit of a drama king and will run to his kennel at the slightest correction (meaning the word, NO!), but he is also quick to forgive.
Koa’s past life consisted of being dumped young and living on his own in the wild for a long period of time. His treatment before he was dumped is unknown but safe to assume he sustained some type of neglect or abuse. New things to Koa are very scary, his lower jaw will tremble like a child-but once he knows you love him his confidence soars. He will require someone with patience to see all his hilarious/loving sides to blossom in their home and to work through his initial anxieties. He would do best in a home with other dogs. We assure you as his foster family-this guy is worth it and he WILL work through them he has flourished in our home.
If you are an active person who would love a compact athletic little dude who enjoys chasing hoses, running laps, playing fetch, walking or hiking for miles with you, Koa may be your forever companion. We are seeking a home with a securely fenced yard and if there are children in the home, over the age of 5. Applications: wwwlmikeyschance.com

We require an adoption application to be filled out which includes personal references. An in-Home check by a Mikey's Chance volunteer is also performed prior to adoption. Our dogs come to the adopter "ready-to-go" with current Vet health checks, all shots and vaccinations current and the animal spayed or neutered, as well as micro-chipped.
Our adoption process can take 2-4 weeks to process as we are run completely by volunteers, all of whom work full time jobs.
