My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.

Who’s a good dog? Molly’s a good dog!
Meet Molly, a female mixed breed born 3/12/23. She is a ton of love in a 50 pound package!

Molly had a hard start to life and is looking for a family who can provide attention, kindness, and, of course, treats for her very good behavior. Found abandoned on the streets at 4 weeks old with an eye infection that left her mostly blind, Molly is undaunted, with a happy, friendly demeanor. She can see lights and shadows, is housetrained, dog-friendly and loves humans of all ages.

Molly also loves to play with canine friends and shows good manners, modifying her play style to match the size and preference of her buddies. She’d love a family who has time to take her for daily walks, so she can sniff to her heart’s content. Molly walks very well on a longer leash but will need some continued work on a short leash – it’s hard not to pull when you are excited to get going!

Molly does not bark excessively but will bark when she is surprised by something – this happens as a result of her vision loss. Molly does well on her own if her family members need to work all day. She loves her toys and a good nap. Occasionally, she will bark a bit if she gets lonely and wants to make sure she is not forgotten, but she doesn’t bark for a long time. Molly is a smart girl and very food motivated, making additional training a breeze.

Other than vision loss, Molly is a typical young, healthy, playful hound who will be a wonderful companion for her new family.

Their adoption process

Additional adoption info

Our adoption process includes adoption application which can be completed at our website wagsmn.org. Current fees can also be accessed on our website. After reviewing your application, a meeting is scheduled between you and the pet in the foster’s home or a neutral dog friendly place. If there are any resident dogs in your home, it is required that the dogs meet at this time. After the meeting, a home visit is scheduled and, if everything goes well with the visit, the adoption is finalized. A home visit by one of our representatives is required prior to finalizing any adoption, and we must meet all members of the household where the pet will be living sometime during the adoption process. We reserve the right to refuse any applicant for any reason Adoption fee includes: vet exam(s), spay/neuter, de-worming, heartworm test (if 6 months of age or older), vaccinations, microchip, and FIV/FeLv testing (for cats only). Email is the best way to get a fast response (wagswhiskersmn@gmail.com).
