My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Yo, I'm Rex! I'm basically a furry cuddle machine with zero personal space boundaries. I'm 2 years old, 53 pounds of pure joy, and I will happily shred any stuffie you give me. My humans say I'm house-trained and crate-trained, which basically means I can hold my potty and sleep like a log all night. I'm super eager to please, and I take corrections like a champ—mostly because it means more treats! I can play fetch from sunrise to sunset. I have a Kong addiction—seriously, they're my binkies, and I carry them everywhere. Snacks are my jam, whether it's treats, popcorn, berries, or carrots. Oh, and chasing lightning bugs? That's my nighttime cardio. Loud noises freak me out, and I hate when my human leaves the room—like, where do you think you're going without me? I'm great with older considerate kids because I have no concept of personal space and can get a bit rowdy. Cats? Nah, not my thing. I'm obsessed with the chinchilla in the cage, but I think my prey drive is a bit too high for small animals. My dream job? Secret service agent, obviously. ;)December 11, 2024, 4:27 pm

Go meet their pets

We are a rescue that is dependent on volunteers as we do not have a physical building. We rent space at a kennel in Upperco, Md. If you would like to meet one of our dogs please contact us to make arrangements. Thanks!

More about this rescue

Adopt a Homeless Animal Rescue (AAHA) is a nonprofit dedicated to rescuing and assisting animals in crisis. We actively combat animal cruelty in any form.

We have a particular commitment to pit bulls and aim to raise awareness about the breed, help those in need, and educate the public:
•We seek to promote this lovely yet unfairly maligned breed as the sweet, intelligent, affectionate, and people-oriented dogs they are.
•We assume stewardship over their well-being and strive to make this world a better place for them.
•We serve as a resource and/or liaison for shelters, individuals, and the community at large, advocating for any animal in harm's way.
•We also function in an advisory role for private citizens who seek assistance and guidance in better caring for their pets.

We are a registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization.

Please help us help the animals!
