My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Bruce is appx 2 year old  mix - and honestly we don't know what kind but his size and shape are defintiely unique.  He weighs appx 80  lbs.  Bruce somehow found himself lost and lonely and was taken in by some very nice people.  He is a beautiful boy and is truly a gentle giant!

Bruce is house trained and crate trained.  He is a medium energy young man that gets along well with the other dog in his foster home.  He loves play time outside, as well as being a snuggly couch potato.

Bruce is learning to walk on leash, but still pulls some and needs a little training.  He loves to ride in a car.  He likes carrots and ice cubes.  He loves to look out the window and will do that for hours.  He recently spent some time boarding and was a favorite with the staff.  He even spent some time with children of the staff and was super gentle and nice with them.

Bruce is not fond of cats, so no feline siblings for Bruce.  He would probably do best with another gentle, playful dog of same size.  He would be fine being the only dog and always center of attention too!  Older children might be best, but only because of his size.

If you are looking for a best friend and/or family member to run, hike, play, explore, and then curl up for some couch time, Bruce is your guy!  He is so beautiful.  Absolutely stunning!

Additional adoption info

Who says you can't buy love? Our adoption rates say different. Our adoption fee covers the pet's spay/neuter, vaccinations, heart worm testing, and worming. We require interested parties to complete our adoption application with veterinarian and personal references. If approved we will work with you to schedule a meeting with the pet, and if you decide to adopt, our contract is the last step. We do not adopt to homes with intact pets or to people under 21 years of age.

Go meet their pets

All our adoptable pets are in foster homes where we socialize them with people and other animals. Along with adoption events we are an agency partner with the PetSmart store in Spring Hill, TN, in The Crossings shopping center as well as PetSense in Columbia, TN. Our cats can be seen during store hours in the Cat Adoption Room. Due to Covid, store times vary so please contact the store prior to your visit to see what we have available. If you are interested in meeting one of our furbabies, simply contact us, and we will work with you to schedule a meeting. Since we are an all-volunteer rescue, please be patient, as it may take up to 72 hours for a response. Thank you!

More about this rescue

We believe that pets are family members who fill our lives with joy and meaning. We are a 501(c)(3) nonprofit rescue group that strives to make a difference in the lives of animals within our rural community in south central Tennessee. Through our Spay/Neuter Program for Giles County residents we know that the result will be a huge reduction in the amount of unwanted cats and dogs in our County.

Rescues exist because of the overpopulation of cats and dogs. About 2.4 million healthy, adoptable cats and dogs are put down in U.S. shelters each year. Often these animals are the offspring of cherished family pets. Spay/Neuter is a proven way to reduce pet overpopulation, ensuring that every pet has a family to love them.

The Giles County Humane Association lends a voice to those animals who cannot speak for themselves.
