Here's what the humans have to say about me:
My name is Maria and I’m looking for my forever home. I’m not quite 1 year old and I’m a petite little sesame girl, weighing 16 lbs. I came to my foster home here in Jonesburg, MO, from the commercial breeding facility where I was born. I’m super playful, especially outside with the other dogs here. I’m very smart too. Foster mom says too smart for my own good since I love to explore and am a bit of a daredevil, jumping up on high things like tables. Like a lot of Shiba puppies, I’m a big chewer – and not just chew-toys. I’m chewed 4 leashes, 8 collars and one travel kennel so far in addition to countless toys. I’m shy with people at first, but my sweet side comes out once I get to know you, especially when we’re inside. I like human attention, especially when foster mom picks me up and carries me around. My perfect forever home will have a securely fenced yard where I can run and jump and play safely. I’m still mastering leash walking. My humans will need to be careful about making sure that there are no gaps in the fence or places where I can climb out or jump over and take myself on a self-guided tour of the neighborhood. I would love to have another playful dog at home. Little kids are probably not a good match for me at this age, but I currently live with cats and am good with them. I’m a healthy girl – spayed and vaccinated. If you live in the Midwest and are looking for a sweet, playful, friend to add to your home, visit www.savingshibas.com/adopt to apply to become an approved SIRA adopter. The application process helps SIRA make sure we’ll be a good match. Once approved, they’ll connect you with my foster mom so we can meet!
