Tank is a sweet and cautious soul who takes his time to warm up to new faces but gets along wonderfully with other dogs, including his foster sibling, Bre. He's also made friends with the neighbor's 2-year-old child and even a tortoise! Tank knows commands like "sit," "leave it," "gentle," and "off." He’s well-behaved when left alone, free-roaming the house, and enjoys sleeping in bed with his humans at night. Though he walks well on a leash, loud noises can make him skittish. Tank is looking for a trustworthy and dedicated human to bring out the best in him, and in return, he will shower you with love. He would love to be in a home with other dogs as they really help him to feel more confident and secure!
From foster: Tank is a nervous guy, but will bond to his caregiver! He's a bit skittish with house guests. He's quiet, polite, and a great dog. He loves the couch and going for walks. He walks well on the leash and is friemdly with other dogs. He's the full package!
Tank was transferred to us by another local rescue.

- If upon meeting the dog of your choosing at your scheduled pickup time you find that you aren't a good match, your deposit will be fully refunded.
- Adoption fees include vaccines up until time of adoption, microchip, spay/neuter and 1st 30 days of free Pet insurance. We are not affiliated with Pet First pet insurance. (you have to sign up for the insurance or it will not go into effect). Adoption fees help cover the medical care of the animals while he or she waits for a new home, as well as food and transportation costs. These fees help to provide care for the other animals in the shelter or rescue group who may have medical bills that are much higher than any possible adoption fee. The money also acts as a donation to help support the organization as a whole, allowing the group to continue its efforts to rescue and rehome pets.
- The dogs in our care are fostered in Colorado, Texas, and New Mexico. While all dogs are picked up during our scheduled times, sometimes transport dates change due to unforeseen circumstances.

- Breed labels are a "best guess" by a shelter veterinarian and cannot be guaranteed.
- A new study has concluded that (in layman's terms), breed assumption is NOT indicative of behavior in mixed breed dogs. Therefore, if a dog looks presumably to be a German Shepherd breed, one cannot assume the dog will have a high prey drive. From the study: "Although many physical traits were associated with breeds, behavior was much more variable among individual dogs. In general, physical trait heritability was a greater predictor of breed but was not necessarily a predictor of breed ancestry in mutts. Among behavioral traits, biddability—how well dogs respond to human direction—was the most heritable by breed but varied significantly among individual dogs.
