My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Hi! SONNY here!

I am a handsome guy that is 9 months old and weighs around 50 pounds. They think I may be a lab/shepherd/husky mix but who knows without a dna test.

I am a little timid, especially around men. I quickly bond to my person and really love sleeping by their side in a cozy bed. When not sleeping, I'll be by your side asking for pets and treats. I am very good with other dogs and need a confident canine sibling to help adjust to my new surroundings and be my playmate. I am fine with kids over 8 but really wee ones might be too unpredictable for my taste.

I walk good on my leash and am crate trained. House trained too, although if you're gone for a very very long time I can't make any promises!

My perfect family would be patient, have experience with shy dogs, have respectful older kids and provide me with a doggy sibling. Wont you please consider adding me to your family? I am a real sweet boy. And my foster mom said I'm just gorgeous! She just may be a wee bit biased.

Yours (I hope),

Sonny

Our adoption process takes several steps and cannot be completed in one day. All of our volunteers work full time and assist the rescue in their spare time. Please allow 2-3 business days for a response.

* Applicants must be willing to make a ten plus year commitment to their new family member.

* Applicants must commit to daily exercise, walks, trips to the dog park or play in the back yard. A well exercised dog is a happy well behaved dog!

* Applicants living in a rental property must provide proof of pet policy from landlord.

* Applicants must provide a veterinarian reference and if there are existing dogs in the household. All pets must be spayed/neutered and current on all shots and heartworm medication.

*Please allow at least a 7-14 day adjustment period for your new dog. Rescue dogs go thru a lot of changes and need a few days to get used to their new surroundings and adjust. Adopting a dog should be a serious commitment, so please be willing to work out the kinks. Our dogs aren't perfect but with proper training and guidance they make awesome, loving pets.

*Our adoption fees vary based on the age and medical needs of the dogs.
