My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.

When at Worcester Animal Control working on other dogs, I unexpectedly met this incredibly sweet dog. There was no way I could leave her behind. The top and bottom center pics are pics from the day I met Princess.
Princess is one of the kindest, most gentle, sweet, loving, grateful dogs I have ever met. She is dog friendly and loves people. Princess is now 41 lbs, and the vet estimated her as 5 years old. I think she is a collie mix.
Princess has a sad story. She was locked in a basement and severely neglected. She escaped the basement and ran over to a neighbor to play with the neighbor’s dog. The neighbor shocked at her condition immediately called Worcester County Animal Control. Princess was emaciated, almost totally hairless, covered with thousands of fleas, had severe bilateral ear infections and secondary skin infections. AC immediately took her to the vet and began treatment. After 2 weeks of treatment, Princess has improved greatly. Her fur is regrowing, infections are eradicated and she has gained over 4 lbs.
Princess has a long way to go before she is ready for adoption, but we thought you would like to meet her and follow her progress.
Princess will be gorgeous once she is fully recovered! Her outside will match her beautiful heart!
Princess is exceptionally sweet and I am so grateful to be able to help her and also to Worcester Animal Control for taking good care of her. They gave her daily baths and multiple medications for 2 weeks.

Additional adoption info

In addition to adoptions to the public, we also work with local, approved, reputable rescues to place dogs and cats rescued from high-kill shelters.

More about this rescue

KMR Inc. was founded in 2010 by Susanne Hoshino in order to rescue homeless animals from high-kill environments. We assess, vet, adopt out, and/or transport to our Rescue Partners and provide outreach/education for pet retention and animal welfare.
Our core mission at Kindness Matters Rescue is to place adoptable homeless animals into loving forever homes and to promote responsible companion animal welfare through support, outreach, and education.
Kindness Matters was born in 2010 after a visit to a local animal control facility made Susi aware of the magnitude of the homeless animal problem. KMR is committed to lowering the staggering euthanasia rate and rescue as many wonderful adoptable pets as possible. We work constantly to build a magic net of rescue relationships throughout the Eastern Shore and the United States in order to rescue the most animals possible from these facilities.
Kindness Matters Rescue became a 501 c3 Charity in the beginning of 2019. We are very proud of the fact that we have rescued over 1,700 animals in our nine-year history.
