This helps Brighter Days Dog Rescue with pet care costs.
Leo is a 2-3 year old handome Havanese (total guess). He is about 12lbs and low-nonshedding. When he came in to rescue he was matted, dirty, and terrified. He had been living on the streets in South Texas. Once he was groomed and all cleaned up we could see how truly beautiful he is.
Leo has come a long way but he is still a scared little man. It took him about 10 days to settle in with his foster mom. At first he would watch from a distance, always just a few feet away from her but didn't wamt to get any closer. He now sleeps in bed with her, plays with toys, and seeks out affection. His forever humans will need to have the same patience and know he will warm up with time, but they need to give him that time. Hopefully over time as he experiences the good in the world he will continue to grow and expand his world and comfort zone. We are going to require that Leo go to a home with another dog because he is learning so much from the fosters other dogs. He gets along well with other dogs, cats, and pretty much any animals. He is a sweet boy who just had a super rough start to life and needs someone to show him all life has to offer.
