My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Princess Peanut and Penelope (Bonded Pair) - We are fam-uh-lee! Bonded daughter (Princess Penelope) and mother (Penelope) Guinea Pigs with a royal kind of bond. We do everything together, and enjoy all the finer things in life: fresh romaine, baby spinach, and of course, our timothy and pellets. Munching and crunching all day long, commenting now and then on our buffet….we are well-adjusted ladies who enjoy polite company and playing dress-up. Just two and three years old and healthy as can be, we have a lot of love to give and plenty of smiles to inspire. Perhaps you’d like to share your castle with us? If interested, please don’t hesitate to call 518-727-8591 or email taspinfo@yahoo.com

Their adoption process

Additional adoption info

We require that an adoption application be completed . Once reviewed, we would then require a home visit and a vet check. We do not charge an adoption fee but appreciate any donations that are made as they help to rescue more animals or support families that have the need. Due to the high volume of calls and/or emails we receive for assistance, it may take a few days to return your call or email.

Go meet their pets

We have a pet adoption clinics at least once a month at various locations. Please see our "Upcoming Events" webpage to see where we are each month:

More about this rescue

The Animal Support Project was formed in 2005 after several volunteers assisted with the devastation of Huricane Katrina. Since that time, we have rescued many dogs and cats from hurricane ridden areas, supported local families in need, assisted with puppy mill raids, etc. Our main goal is to help families so they are able to keep their pets. We assist with behavioral issues and training to rectify the issue and, thereby, animal remains with their family instead of being surrendered to a shelter. We are an all volunteer group and survive solely on donations from so many animal loving people.
