My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

We all know Yami is beautiful, but she has a sweet little personality under all that fluff too. Shelter life was so stressful for Yami after her owner moved over seas and couldn't take her with. She started to be defensive and afraid of everyone. Luckily, she landed in a wonderful foster home where she has gotten to relax and feel safe again. She is still nervous in some situations (her whole world got flipped upside down!) but will thrive with an understanding and patient home.

More about this shelter

We serve the pets and people in Northern Illinois and Southeastern Wisconsin. Our mission is clear: To take responsibility for each and every orphaned, abandoned, abused or neglected dog and cat which reaches our doors; to take them in and shelter them; to provide the best medical and physical care possible for them; to nurture them back to health if need be; and finally to place them into warm, loving, adoptive homes where they can enjoy the lives they deserve.
