Check out our sister brand, Kinship, for vet chat, a nutrition calculator, basic obedience training, and (much) more. So you're never flying solo in this pet parenting thing.
Hoss is a handsome 2-year old male Labrador Retriever mix who was brought to the HSOV on April 30, 2024 by a Washington County Ohio Deputy Sheriff who had picked him up on Brush Road in the Marietta Ohio area. Hoss was not wearing a collar, and he was not microchipped.
This good-looking boy has a black short smooth coat with a patch of white on his chest, white toes on his paws, a long tail, and a sweet face with dark brown eyes, a splash of white on his muzzle, and large floppy ears.
These photos of Hoss were taken on the afternoon on May 3, 2024 when HSOV Volunteer Emma Dahlgren accompanied him outdoors during a break in the rain which had deluged the mid-Ohio Valley during the past week. Hoss was a well-behaved boy who looked to Emma for guidance and (literally) leaned on her for reassurance (smile).
Hoss weighs 58 lbs and walked fairly well on a leash for Emma.
In compliance with the Ohio Revised Code, Hoss was held for three days so that his family would have an opportunity to reclaim him with proof of ownership .. But nobody called or came looking for him.
