My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Adoptable in: MA, RI, NH, CT, and VT

Good with dogs: Yes, with proper intros
Good with cats: No
Good with kids: Yes, age 16+
Crate trained: Yes
House Trained: Yes

Koda is a sweet, silly gal who is ready to give so much love to her forever humans!

She gets along well with other dogs when she can meet them slowly. When she meets new energetic dogs, she would prefer to have a little extra time and space to get to know them but warms up quickly. She is a medium-energy dog, where she loves to play outside in the yard or go for walks and then is content to chill on the couch. She also loves bones and chew toys which can entertain her for hours. Koda has a playful personality and like most pups can jump when excited because she's just so happy to see you. She is looking for a home with adult humans and no cats, as she is still learning how to channel her energy through structure and boundaries. She is a lover with a big heart and adores human affection and attention..

Koda is fully crate-trained and house-trained. She will go into her crate willingly for a high value treat and has mastered eating meals in the crate. She’d make a perfect work from home buddy, as she is crated occasionally during the day and will sleep in her overnight without any issue. Koda is doing great with her leash manners and will look to you for guidance as she navigates her new environment. She is food-motivated and very trainable, as she picks up commands quickly such as ‘sit’, and working hard on ‘down’ and ‘place’.

Koda is a lovebug who’s never met a stranger she doesn’t like, so please consider this gal as she’d make a wonderful addition to an adult home!

More about this rescue

Our mission at Last Hope K9 Rescue is to save every possible dog we can from being euthanized within high-volume kill shelters throughout the U.S.

As the literal “last hope” of nearly every animal we serve, we work tirelessly to place each one within a stable, loving environment that can act as either their forever home, or the gateway to their forever home. We also strive to ensure that all of our adoptions and foster placements are the optimal fit for everyone involved, including our dogs. This leads to our second goal: enriching human lives through canine companionship. To us, you can’t have one without the other.

Lastly, we promote animal welfare by lobbying important initiatives that both protect and give voice to the voiceless. By fostering an environment of collaboration with other organizations that share our goals, and working together instead of in competition, we find that we accomplish more.
