Looking for a playmate for your current cat? Please consider Lance!
Notes from his former foster mom:
Lance is a sweet guy who becomes more friendly and active as he gets used to his environment. Don’t let his timidness at adoption events or centers steer you away. When I brought him home, it took him a few weeks to slowly come out and explore the house. But each day, he got more comfortable and explored more of the house and asked for attention.
A covered bed and some toys and lots of food is all he needs to start off with. Right off the bat, he loved head scratches and to be brushed. After a few days, he started to get out of his covered bed and played with toys. He likes anything he can bat around on the floor, laser pointer, and the plastic 3 tier ball tower. He DOES NOT like wand toys, or anything waived in his face. He loves to bird watch as well.
Lance does not like to be picked up and is not a lap cat, yet. I think with the right person who has
time and patience, he will come around and maybe at least sit next to you on the couch He
finally joined me and the other cats on the end of couch for first time after about a month in the
house.
He gets along fine with my cats. He has started to chase after them to play, however they are
old ladies who want nothing to do with that. That is why I think he will make a great playmate
for a younger male cat. Not sure if he gets along with dogs. Based on his demeanor, I do not
think he would do well in a house with young children.
Once final note he does have a chronic respiratory infection that causes a weepy eye,
congestion and sneezing. It flares up when he is more stressed out, but as he settled into the
house, I noticed it did lessen significantly.
