My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Ferrero, the dashing black kitty with a coat so soft, silky, and glossy it's like he's made of midnight velvet. Ferrero is the ultimate chill companion-easygoing and unbothered by anything, whether it's his mama Valentina (KRLA-A-6640) cuffing him for a little too much enthusiasm or the roaring vacuum cleaner, which he bravely investigates. He's even nonchalant around dogs, coolly greeting the shop pups at Off the Leash like it's no big deal. But don't let his laid-back vibe fool you-Ferrero is a playful dynamo with a huge appetite for fun! He loves nothing more than chasing his foster sister Fanta through the house, their tiny paws thundering up and down the stairs in epic races. Their wrestling matches are the stuff of legend, so much so that even the resident cat has been coaxed out of retirement to join in the kitten antics. Ferrero is also an intrepid explorer, always the first to poke his nose into an open door or cupboard, ready to discover what lies beyond. He even enjoys harnessed indoor adventures, strolling confidently through new spaces. In the office, Ferrero is a tech-savvy kitty, chasing the cursor on the computer screen and keeping a close eye on the printer, fascinated by its sudden whirring to life. When he finally winds down, Ferrero adores head scratches, cheek rubs, and ear strokes, content to soak up the love after a day full of playful mischief. Because of his young age, Ferrero needs to be adopted with another kitten, or to a home with a young, playful kitten or cat. He is best friends with Fanta (KRLA-A-7745) with whom he is well matched. He also plays and sleeps with his mama Valentina (KRLA-A-6640.)

More about this rescue

Kitten Rescue is a non-profit, volunteer-run organization devoted to finding loving homes for unwanted, homeless cats and kittens. We rescue cats and kittens from the streets of Los Angeles and from City Shelter euthanasia. Since our start in 1997, we have grown into one of the largest, most well-respected animal welfare groups in LA.

Kitten Rescue volunteers adopt out over 2,000 cats and kittens into homes every year. We educate the public about responsible pet guardianship, how to care for kittens and cats, and the importance of spaying and neutering. Kitten Rescue makes educational material available via events, print, school presentations and here on our website. We also provide Trap-Neuter-Return (TNR) assistance for communities in and around Los Angeles, and teach people how to manage and care for feral cat colonies.
