When shelters label dogs like Cocoa as "RESCUE ONLY" it means that a dog may only be taken from the shelter by a Rescue Organization, and not directly by a single person.

Cocoa's Story:
Cocoa was rescued from a shelter by another organization a few months back. He had found a forever home, but due to his biting was returned to the rescue. They didn't have room to take him back so they reached out to us!

Cocoa is a 7 year old Maltese/Poodle mix. He is for the majority of the time a really sweet and lovable boy. He loves to play and is great with other dogs. We are learning that he is triggered when he is overwhelmed and overstimulated. Gloves are a great tool to help dogs understand that biting is not an effective way to get their owner's attention. We are not dog trainers, but are trying our best to help him improve. Cocoa needs a patient adopter who is willing to invest time and care into correcting his behavior.
