My personality

My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Pierce and his siblings were born when a stray mother cat was found searching for food at a fast-food restaurant in Statesville, NC right about March 17. Mom and kittens were all given Irish names to celebrate St. Patrick's Day! Pierce is a very handsome gentleman wearing a tuxedo and was named after the Irish actor Pierce Brosnan. He was recently neutered and is a healthy and happy - beautifully marked older kitten. Pierce loves to play with his siblings and the other cats/kittens at our rescue. He is a sweet kitten who also loves to chow down his food! He is negative for FIV/Leukemia, and he has received both rounds of his 5-way vaccines, been dewormed and received flea treatment. He is a beautiful, very healthy kitty! If you are interested in this sweet young cat, please let us know, and we will send an application for adoption to your email. Arrangements can be made for you to visit him before adoption. We also offer a 3-day trial adoption period. Thank you for your interest in adopting a truly rescued pet! If you have any specific questions about Pierce, don't hesitate to send us an email at citizens4animals@yahoo.com

Additional adoption info

We ask all potential adopters to fill out an application for adoption which is sent to them as soon as an inquiry is received. The application is reviewed, and the applicant's vet reference is checked by phone. If the applicant does not have a good vet record, the application is denied. If the applicant is renting a home, we ask for his landlord's name and phone # and check to make certain the applicant is allowed to have a pet. If there are any concerns regarding the application, we bring them to the applicant's attention and ask for clarification. This is done before the applicant meets the pet. We then set up a meeting at a mutually convenient time and place. If the applicant wants the pet, we ask for a check made payable to CFAW at the time the applicant takes the pet. The adoption donation is held for 3-5 days during which the potential adopter can decide whether (or not) he wants to permanently adopt the pet. If he decides not to adopt and returns the pet to us, his check is returned at that time. There is also a Pet Adoption Contract which basically states that the adopter will take good care of the pet. This is signed by both parties.
