My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.

Meet Hazel, a charming shepherd mix with a heart of gold. Born on September 3, 2021, Hazel's journey began when she was surrendered to a rescue as a sweet puppy. From the start, she exuded love and warmth, craving the companionship of humans and soaking up every moment of affection.

Under the care of her foster family, Hazel blossomed into a smart and quick learner. Potty training and navigating doggie doors were mere challenges she conquered effortlessly. But perhaps her greatest joy is found in water; Hazel's eyes light up at the sight of a hose, eagerly frolicking and playing whenever the opportunity arises.

During her time in foster care, Hazel formed a special bond with a little puppy named Lincoln, who had bravely battled distemper. Despite the challenges Lincoln faced, their friendship flourished, providing solace and support to each other. Together, they weathered storms and shared moments of joy, their connection deepening with each passing day.

Their journey took a turn when they were adopted together by a loving family, but circumstances changed, and they found themselves back in the care of the rescue. Now, Hazel and Lincoln seek a new home where they can continue their adventures together. While Lincoln bears the mark of his past struggle with a swaying head, it's no obstacle for the love and joy he brings.

Though finding a home willing to adopt two dogs, especially one with a handicap, may seem daunting, the rescue holds onto hope. Hazel's heart is open, ready to welcome a family willing to embrace both her and Lincoln, offering them the love and care they deserve.

If you feel your heartstrings tugged by Hazel's story and are interested in opening your home to her, visit www.adoggie4you.org to complete an application. Hazel's adoption fee is $300, and if you're considering adopting both Hazel and Lincoln, the total adoption fee for both is $400. Join Hazel and Lincoln on their journey, and together, let's create a future filled with love and endless tail wags.

Both dogs are currently in Texas; however, they can be transported to Washington, Portland (Oregon), Minneapolis, Milwaukee, Chicago, Des Moines, Omaha, Cincinnati, Lexington KY or all along the East Coast. If transported, there is an additional transport fee of $300 total for both dogs.  The remaining transport fee is being sponosored.  If only one dog is adopted the individual transport fee will be $225. We do not transport to Rhode Island or Massachusetts due to their regulations.

Additional adoption info

Adoption application is required. Applications are checked by contacting references and veterinarians of those with pets to ensure our pups go to the best homes possible. A picture of your home or yard may be requested

All dogs and puppies are fully vetted prior to adoption (spay/neuter, rabies, 3 DHPP, bordetella, heartworm test/treat if positive) and are micro-chipped.

Our fees start at $200, transport out of Texas is arranged by us and is generally an additional $200.
We work hard to place dogs into the right families, but sometimes we realize the fit isn't quite working out for the adopter or the pet. Our contract requires if an adoption does not work out the dog is to be returned to us. We need at least two weeks notice.
