My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Oliver would do anything for you, dear; anything! He is our lovable little lapdog! At 8lbs, he`s truly compact, but he is big on sweetness! He can be a little shy at a first meeting with someone, but once he learns to trust, he becomes a completely darling boy. And he does his fair share of reactive barking, so he needs some assurance and training from his new owner and he can be calm. Oliver will hypnotize you with his big beautiful brown eyes, too! He loves to be held by his favorite person, and he loves to put one of his paws wrapped around your neck. We just know that once he finds the person that will give him his forever home, full of calm, treats and love, Oliver will be the living the Fine Life indeed!

More about this shelter

Our shelter had it's beginnings in the mid 90's and formally became a nonprofit organization in 2001. The dream of Lee and Sophia DiClemente has grown to be the largest no-kill animal shelter in New Mexico. Lee passed in 2010, but Sophia carries on with the support of a small staff, a large number of volunteers, and numerous donors - large and small.
