My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Blue, boy; quite honestly the sweetest, and most unique puppy ever. With his different colored eyes, he has a knack for giving the puppy dog look. Blue is the sweetest ever and so docile despite his size. At about 9 months old, and about 55 pounds; he definitely has some filling out to do, but it goes without saying that he will forever be a lapdog! Blue's favorite thing to do is simply be accompanied by people, whether he's getting all the belly rubs, with his tongue hanging out of his mouth like a goofball, or he's playing a quick game of fetch in the lobby, he is a happy boy. Bluedoesn't require much to keep him absolutely content, a single bone? Pft. He gnaws away for hours, only ever stopping to wiggle his butt in excitement about HAVING the bone, AND being around people! Blue gets along amazingly with all other dogs, kids, and even cats! He has the most outgoing, yet sensitive personality that isn't often seen in rescue pups. Blue ALSO has his basic commands down with a simple lure of a treat, is crate-trained, house-broken, AND has been working ever so diligently on his leash walking manners! He's a very smart boy, and has been picking up on EVERYTHING very quickly! We know he will do amazing in just about any home!

My adoption fee is only $210! This fee covers all of my vaccines, microchip, nex/heartguard, heartworm test, AND my spay/neuter!

Think I might be the perfect fit for your home? You can apply for me here https://animalwelfarefriends.org/adopt/application/ OR you can apply in person when you come visit me any day during business hours! You can even adopt me that same day once approved!!

Please Note: All adoptions are on a first-come first served basis with approved adoption applicants. We do not hold animals unless the adoption is out-of-state, and fees apply. More about this shelter

We are a non-profit organization out of Monticello, IA specializing in the care for dogs and cats that need us. Our care does not stay local, as we take transports from all over the United States, and adopt all over as well!

Our mission's primary focus is to help reduce the homeless pet population by finding homes for spayed/neutered pets, and helping educate WHY this process is so important, and the proper way to care for pets!
