My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Blaze, a magnificent orange tabby born October 2021 with a heart as big as his vibrant personality! Born in October 2021, Blaze is ready to embark on a new chapter of his life and find his forever home after being left behind when his previous owners moved away.

Blaze is a sight to behold with his striking coat and charming demeanor. This handsome boy commands attention wherever he goes, and his playful antics will keep you entertained for hours on end. Despite his size, Blaze is a gentle giant who adores affection and craves human interaction.

Curious by nature, Blaze loves to explore his surroundings and investigate every nook and cranny of his environment. His inquisitive spirit makes him a joy to be around, and you'll love watching him discover new things with wide-eyed wonder.

Not only is Blaze engaging and curious, but he's also incredibly intelligent and quick to learn. Whether it's mastering a new trick or solving a puzzle toy, Blaze thrives on mental stimulation and loves a good challenge.

In addition to his lively personality, Blaze is also quite the active cat. He enjoys playtime with toys and interactive games, and he'll happily join you in any adventure you have planned.

If you're searching for a feline companion who is as smart as he is charming, look no further than Blaze. Come meet this wonderful boy and see for yourself the joy and love he has to offer. With Blaze by your side, every day will be filled with laughter, love, and endless fun!

Additional adoption info

1) The first step to meet the cats at Animal House is to email us at AHcatadoption@gmail.com. Be sure to include your full name, age, address, and phone number. We will respond as soon as possible to answer your questions and schedule an appointment to visit our shelter. If you have already submitted an inquiry through Adopt-a-Pet or Petfinder about a particular cat, there is no need to send a separate email.
2) During your appointment, you will complete a questionnaire and work with an adoption coordinator to find the cat that is right for you. This process may involve meeting with numerous cats, or even making more than one visit to Animal House. You and your new cat will live together for a lifetime, so this step is important.
3) Before adoption, we ensure that your cat has been spayed or neutered, microchipped, and vaccinated.
4) When your adoption is finalized, the adoption paperwork is completed and a $130 adoption fee for adult cats and $150 for kittens is collected.

More about this shelter

Animal House Cat Rescue and Adoption Center is a private, non-profit, “no-kill” organization dedicated to providing the homeless, abandoned cats and kittens of St. Louis with a better life. We are committed to maintaining an adoption center that provides a safe, healthy and enriching environment, and our goal is a solid and lasting adoption for every cat and kitten in our care.

Animal House opened in 2010 when the City of St. Louis closed its municipal shelter and ended a number of services for stray animals. Not only did the 75 cats residing in their shelter need a place to go, the St. Louis community needed services for abandoned, homeless cats. Animal House was born out of that need. Today we house 100-250 cats and kittens at any given time.

The cats and kittens at Animal House are rescued from the streets of our community and often come from challenging circumstances that include neglect, abandonment, or injury. We have created a safe place where cats in need find shelter, medical and nutritional support, individualized socialization and interaction, enrichment, lots of love, and the opportunity to connect with a loving, lifelong family. We impose no time limit on this process, giving each cat or kitten the time they need. We emphasize matchmaking throughout our adoption process to ensure the best possible match.
