Adoption fees are payable by cash, check, and Venmo (@kysave-rescue)

1- fill out application
2- application is submitted to adoption board for approval
3- If application is approved we will set up a meet and greet
4- If meet and greet goes well and all parties wish to continue with adoption we will do a home visit
5- sign papers and pay adoption fee
6- Enjoy your new family member!

Adoption steps

    1. The board will review your application and if approved we will reach out to you to schedule a meet and greet with the animal.
  3. Meet the Pet
    1. We meet at our facility. We ask that all members of the home come to meet the pet. Any other animals in the home will be required to meet.
  4. Home Check
    1. We will come to your home at a scheduled time.
  5. Pay Fee
    1. Adoptable pets have varying adoption fees.
  6. Take the Pet Home
    1. Enjoy your new family member! We love updates!

By working with committed volunteers, foster homes, local veterinarians, trainers, and boarding facilities: Kentucky S.A.V.E. is a non- profit, no kill, animal rescue which is dedicated to caring, helping, training, and placing homeless/abandoned, abused/injured, &/or ill domestic animals throughout the Commonwealth of Kentucky; to rehabilitate, vaccinate, and spay/neuter; and place each animal in a loving adoptive home, which is entirely organized and run by dedicated members from our communities.

Kentucky S.A.V.E. is committed to increasing public awareness of the companion animal overpopulation issue and provide solutions to end the killing of adoptable animals; to provide education and information to be a responsible pet owner, including the importance of spay/neuter, positive behavior training, and good nutrition.
