Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Dahlia and her litter mates were surrendered to a kill shelter at only six weeks old. Still, despite being separated from her mom far too soon, this little lady has a strong will and outgoing outlook on life and is always eager to make new human and animal friends! Dahlia is an adorable, determined, exuberant pittie mix puppy whose white coat and hazel eyes are evolving as she learns more about the world around her!
Dahlia is always interested in meeting new dogs! Her curiosity ultimately outweighs any reservations she has, and has found that slow introductions help her build her confidence (very quickly!) Dahlia is best described as cat-friendly adjacent! Dahlia assumes all four-legged friends are not foes, but still has some opportunity to learn the difference between when kitties are playing versus setting personal boundaries.
Dahlia has enjoyed the company of a three, eight, and eleven-year-old weekly and is always excited to see her mini-human friends - a feeling that is mutually shared by the kids until they experience Dahlia's puppy teeth during play. Dahlia has responded well to the direction that friends are not food (or toys), and we expect that once she's done teething, those sharp experiences will be a thing of history!
Dahlia is a very high-energy puppy whose only downtime is the naps necessary at her young age to ensure she grows big and healthy - while she can be super cuddly when tired, she far prefers play over pets. She would be best suited in an active home that will engage in regular play and multiple walks a day—a yard with voluntary access would be ideal for this little sunflower, and bonus points if there's another doggie friend to wrestle with, in and outdoors.
Dahlia has recently mastered sit and will be a quick study for further training as she is VERY food motivated. Dahlia also shows signs of being a boss at loose leash walking. Dahlia's zest for life is indescribably endearing, as are her precious looks! She is a unique pup in personality and appearance, and her forever home will never lack entertainment or love!
Dahlia is a young, rolly-polly, hungry-hungry, happy hippo caterpillar of a puppy who hasn't met a dog friend that she does not like. She metamorphoses daily and has many more unique and enchanting qualities to reveal!
