Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Iryss is a sweet girl that belonged to a wonderful couple. Hard times fell upon the couple causing them to have to move in with family members who did not like dogs. Iryss was not mistreated, but definitely knew she was liked nor wanted. The family member forced the couple to put Iryss outside and then gave the ultimatum "get rid of her". The couple tried to find a home for her but were unsuccessful. The couple found us and Iryss has been in a boarding situation with a short temporary stay in a foster home until the holidays were over and boarding space was available.
Iryss is a loving girl, but slow to warm up to people. She needs a quiet calm household with patient people. She will bond initially to one person- probably the female, but once the male in the household participates in feeding and other routines she will be his buddy. She lived with other dogs smaller than her, but likes dogs that are not going to be up in her face barking. Iryss would do best in a home with no other pets and no children. Iryss can be silly, playful and loving to those that give her love back. She loves to run around in a fenced in yard so secure fence is a must.To inquire about an animal or submit an application visit https://www.hands2paws.org/adopt.html
