Check out our sister brand, Kinship, for vet chat, a nutrition calculator, basic obedience training, and (much) more. So you're never flying solo in this pet parenting thing.
Hi there, I`m Florence and I am 1 1/2 years old. I am a pretty and dainty brown tabby girl. Sadly, I came to TAPS when my human went into assisted living. I came with two of my friends who have both now been adopted. I am in an open cat room and am an awesome door greeter! If I see someone, I wait at the door watching and hoping they will come in so I can welcome them with tiny mews and head bumps. I live for pets and affection! There is no one sweeter! I am super friendly. I am also good with other cats. Any cat that has come into my room has become my friend. I enjoy toys but am not crazy with them and I love climbing around the cat trees, exploring my space, and birdwatching through the window in my room as well. I do have an old injury to my eye, so it does look a little bit different and does water sometimes. The vet has monitored it and says that it will always be that way, but causes me no issues, so please don`t let that scare you away from me! I am an amazing companion and friend! You will definitely be missing out if you don`t meet me! Please fill out an online application so we can meet and get to know each other. I am sure to win you over!!

TAPS-Tazewell Animal Protective Society was founded in 1958 in Pekin Illinois in a building donated by the City of Pekin on River Road. In 1979, rapidly rising river water forced the evacuation of the animals. Once again, the City of Pekin stepped in and donated a building for the animals. Several moves later, and with the help and generosity of many volunteers and community members, TAPS now has a new home at 100 TAPS Lane. Last year we celebrated 50 year of caring for the homeless animals of Central Illinois.
