We don't know Frosty's story before he came into rescue. He wandered into a neighborhood, begging to be let into houses. Super sweet and friendly. He was also sporting an ear tip (universal sign of neuter for a stray) and a recent neuter. He is so social and loving, we know he has not been a stray his whole life. Unfortunately, his time as a stray left him with some issues. He has tested heartworm positive. Unlike dogs, there is not a traditional heartworm treatment available for cats. He is on some minor medication to support his health while the heartworms themselves die off over the next couple of years. Unfortunately he has one more complication. He has Hypertrophic Cardiomyopathy or HCM. This is a congenital heart condition that causes the muscular walls of a cat's heart to thicken, decreasing the heart's efficiency. He does not currently require any medication for this and cats with HCM can live with great quality of life. As the condition advances he may require medication. And it is likely he may not live as long as a typical housecat. But he has SO much love to give and deserves every chance at a happy life in a forever home.Available for adoption from Kitty Kat Haven and Rescue Hoover, AL 35226 205-302-8883
