Foster Homes Needed!

Do you have time and room in your life for a foster dog?

http://www.muttloverescue.org/foster.html

*****************

Sweet little Bombica has not had an easy life so far. She was a street dog in Kosovo and never knew the comfort and safety of living in a loving home. She came to the US recently and is thriving in her foster home. She is a year and a half old and weighs a petite 28 pounds. She is housebroken. She is spayed and up to date on vaccines. She LOVES all people, but should be an only dog. She does fine on walks and is great on the leash. She just doesn't want to share her home with another dog. In addition to walks, her other favorite things are belly rubs, treat and stealing your pillow to lay on! She's learning what toys are, but prefers to snuggle up with you on the couch and watch TV. Bombica is a very affectionate  little girl that will make a wonderful addition to a very lucky family.

Their adoption process

Additional adoption info

The first step in our process is the application which can be completed either online or at one of our adoption events. We would then conduct an interview with all members of the household. We do a vet reference if applicable, and lastly, we do a home visit. Our adoption fee is $285 and all dogs are spayed/neutered, up-to-date on all required vaccines, tested for heartworm and tickborne diseases, and on year-round heartworm preventative. Lastly, all dogs are microchipped.

More about this rescue

Mutt Love Rescue is a non-profit, no-kill, volunteer dog rescue organization serving the Washington, DC, metro area. We are dedicated to rescuing dogs left homeless for whatever reason – dogs in public shelters where they are at high risk of euthanasia due to pet overpopulation, dogs given up by their owners because of difficult circumstances, and those in danger of abuse or neglect.

We place dogs in loving, responsible, committed permanent homes, following a comprehensive adoption process which includes taking considerable care in finding good matches and educating prospective adopters about the responsibilities and costs of bringing a dog into their homes and lives.

Animals in our care are spayed or neutered, receive all appropriate veterinary care and treatment, and placed in nurturing foster homes while they await placement in their permanent homes. We assist dogs in distress without regard to age, breed or ease of placement. To the extent our finances allow, dogs in the greatest need take priority.

We are determined to keep administrative expenses extremely low so that virtually every dollar taken in goes directly to the care of the animals. Our group remains interested in and committed to the welfare of the dog beyond the adoption process.

Finally, we strive to work with area shelters and other rescue and humane organizations to develop a network of supporters and volunteers in order to create a better world for homeless pets.
