Winter and her pups were found near a ball field. She was microchipped to a breeder, but the chip was never registered. In hopes of finding her owners, all resources were exhausted, and she was on stray hold for an extended period of time before she was taken into the LHS adoption program.
Winter is now spayed has taken the pledge 'NO MORE PUPPIES!' and fully vaccinated. She tested positive for heartworms and received a ProHeart12 injection, which is the slow kill treatment that's easier on the dog with fewer health risks and doesn't require activity restrictions.
Update from foster mom that is caring for Winter aka Winnie...
Winnie is a very sweet, friendly and calm girl. Winnie knows a handful of commands sit, down, no, come here and out (when you want her back out of a room). She is a fast learner and knew her name in one week. She is a pro at nudging your hand to get you to pet her. She is definitely a morning dog and so happy in the morning. Mealtime in AM is her favorite time and will graze all day. Winnie has good energy for walks and playing in the yard. She will chase a ball but only leaves it in the yard about halfway back to her human. Winnie may do better with larger dogs; Winnie gets in her kennel on command when I leave for work. Crate and house trained. She also sleeps on her bed at night next to her foster mom. Rarely will she jump on furniture without being invited. Winnie does well with grooming. If Winnie is the girl for you, please fill out an app and the foster mom will be in touch within 48 hours if you are a good match for Winnie.
Age: Aprox 3 years old. Adoption fee is $275.00 Winter weighs 58.2 as of July 6th.
