Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Needs a good loving home ASAP -
LOCATION: SUFFOLK, VIRGINIA - Available for adoption or transfer from Suffolk Animal Care, Suffolk VA. Please reach out directly to me, Dawn 610-787-2353 or email us for an application to adopt. WE ARE LOOKING FOR A FOSTER AND/OR ADOPTER.
Berg is a 2-3 year old unaltered male Great Pyrenees (BUT I WILL PAY FOR HIS NEUTERING AND ALL HIS VAX/bloodwork/deworming AND 1ST VISIT TO VET if the shelter doesnt take care of it themselves). I will pay for his 1 grooming too. We want him out asap due to how small is cage is.
Berg who found himself unceremoniously dumped two counties away when the owner decided he was no longer right for their farm. Shelter was able to track the owner down and have learned all about this sweet big boy.
Berg is a very friendly boy, has been around kids and enjoys the company of humans. He is good with other dogs but does show dominance over other large unaltered male dogs. He is good with sheep, chickens and barn cats. He is not good with cows, calves, or pigs.
FROM SHELTER STAFF: Berg came to us very matted with a coat full of burrs. He still has a fair amount of matting behind each ear and random burrs elsewhere which we are slowly making progress with. He has been given distemper and bordatella and was dewormed. He is in serious need of a good grooming. He will be given rabies before being transfered. And if adopted will be neutered and microchipped.
Berg isn’t doing well in the shelter. The kennels are approximately 4’x6’ and at 77 lbs and don’t provide much space for him. He does get walked and time in the play yard.
Berg would be a great family dog with a fenced in backyard and lots of space to run. He enjoys going for walks. He would also be a good farm dog as long as there are no cows or pigs.
